Hornets Near Comeback Win on the Road

Hornets Near Comeback Win on the Road

The Greenhill football team suffered a close loss on Friday night against Houston Christian High School.

The Greenhill football team was full of fight on October 25, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to overcome Houston Christian, with a final score of 12-15 favoring the Mustangs.

The Hornets knew it would be an uphill battle with their starting quarterback, Will Black, not playing, but that didn’t stop them from making the match a nail-biter for both sides. Trey Davis and Josiah Christian stepped in at quarterback. They threw for 20 and 25 yards respectively.

Greenhill relied on their running game, with Trey Davis collecting 62 yards and 1 touchdown, Andrew Puplampu carrying for 46, and Josiah Christian for 2. Noah Piper tacked on 2 field goals, to get the Hornets to 12.

The game marked the lowest-scoring match for the Hornets and dropped their season record to 5-4. The team looks to put the exclamation point on their season with a win over Oakridge School to advance to the 3A SPC Championships on November 1.
