Mary Aidala

Mary Aidala has always loved making art and feels lucky to share her passion for creating with her Lower School students. She received her BFA in Painting from Southern Methodist University. She works with multiple two and three-dimensional mediums, with a focus on drawing and painting with oils, casein, and encaustics.
Leann Burns
Performing Arts Building Manager

Leann spent her childhood in the Northwest and moved to Texas during high school. She received her BA from UNT, and is pursing her M.Ed from SMU. She 15 years of experience as a a professional lighting designer and teaching at the high school level. Leann has worked at theatres across the metroplex, including Watertower Theater, Theatre Three, and Stage West. At Greenhill, she serves as the Manager for the Marshall Family Performing Arts Center, co-teacher for the Upper School technical theatre practicum classes, and teacher for the Middle School jewelry class.
Libby DiCenso

Libby DiCenso has loved painting since she first picked up a paintbrush. This led her to Boston University where she received her BFA in painting and an MA in art education. She has enjoyed sharing her love of art with her students ever since.
Benjamin Daniel

Benjamin Daniel is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who believes music belongs to everyone! After studying music and movement at Texas A&M University-Commerce, he received certification in the Kodály and Orff-Schulwerk approaches to music education. In addition to teaching at the Greenhill, he is an Assistant Conductor for the Greater Dallas Choral Society and an instructor at the Plano ISD/SMU Kodály Teacher Training Program.
Kendall Davis
US 2D Art Teacher

Kendall Davis has a B.F.A. from Southern Methodist University and a M.F.A. in painting and drawing from American University. She has taught on the collegiate level as well as at other private schools. Throughout her career, she has been an exhibiting artist, and she has owned her own ceramic store/studio. Recently, she was lucky enough to participate in a month-long artist residency in Marfa.
Brian Donnell

Brian Donnell, Greenhill’s Director of Bands, has degrees from the University of North Texas and SMU, and is a Greenhill Legend and Faculty Leader. During his tenure, Greenhill band members have consistently earned the highest ratings at individual and group contests, earned chairs in all-region and all-state bands, and have performed for audiences throughout the area and state. Since 1992, Mr. Donnell has continuously served in statewide and regional officer roles for TPSMEA and ATSSB, including his current role as ATSSB State Jazz Coordinator.
Corbin Doyle

Corbin Doyle, Middle and Upper School Video Production Director, started Greenhill's film program in 1997. He holds a BFA from SMU, and has had art shows, films, and performances around the world. He received the Dallas Museum of Art Award to Artist, the Ellen Battell Fellowship residency at Yale School of Art, and participated in the Yale MFA Program in Painting and Printmaking. He’s been married to Patricia Doyle for 31 years and is the father of two wonderful Greenhill graduates.
Emmanuel Espiritu

Emmanuel Espiritu has a bachelor's in music education and a master's in choral conducting from the Boston Conservatory. Prior to Greenhill, he worked at St. Monica Catholic Church as the Director of Youth and Youth Music and the Head Choir at John Paul II High School in Plano, where his groups regularly received Superior ratings and had many students make All-Region and All-State groups. Emmanuel is a member of TMEA and TPSMEA, and he also serves as the director of the Youth Chorus of the Children's Chorus of Collin County.
Maxey Goold

Maxey Goold grew up in Addison and has worked as an actor and voice actor for the last 20 years. She has worked for local and regional theaters including Watertower Theater, Dallas Theater Center, Dallas Children's Theater, and the Barter Theater. Maxey also works at Crunchyroll as a voice actor with shows featured on Cartoon Network and Netflix. She holds an MA in Acting and serves as the Fine Arts Department Coordinator and Assistant Director for the Middle and Upper School plays and musicals.
Valerie Hauss-Smith
US Drama & Theatre

A native of France, Valerie has performed in plays on both sides of the Atlantic. She has directed for organizations like Junior Players, Northlake College, and UNT. She has an MA in Theatre, is fascinated by clowning, Shakespeare, and mask work, and has taught college for several years in Texas. She is now the Upper School Theatre Director at Greenhill School where she enjoys working with people who are both wonderful young artists and dedicated educators.
Gypsy Ingram

Gypsy Ingram has been a dance educator in Texas – teaching students of diverse ages, backgrounds, and experience levels – for almost three decades. She earned her MFA in dance from Texas Woman's University. Prior to that, she danced professionally as a ballet dancer and musical theatre performer. She also choreographed for numerous schools and studios across the country. She has a passion for the transformative power of dance and is thrilled to serve as the MS/US dance director.

Pulitzer Prize-finalist foreign correspondent and investigative journalist Gregg Jones is the author of three nonfiction books: 'Honor in the Dust: Theodore Roosevelt, War in the Philippines, and the Rise and Fall of America's Imperial Dream', a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice; 'Last Stand at Khe Sanh,' winner of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation's Gen. Wallace M. Greene Jr. Award for distinguished nonfiction; and 'Red Revolution,' praised by the Atlantic as "an engrossing and highly informative book." Jones worked as a staff writer for the Los Angeles Times, Dallas Morning News and Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He holds a BA from the University of Louisiana.
Frank Lopez

Frank Lopez is an international award-winning educator and artist, specializing in the cultural landscape and 19th – 21st century integrated techniques. He is a Faculty Leader at Greenhill School, awarded the 2020 Center Santa Fe Callanan Award for Photography Education, a Dallas Observer MasterMind Cultural Contributor, and a Kodak Professional Scholar. The director of Greenhill Photography since 2006, Frank is held in numerous private collections and his work may be found at www.franklopez.com. He holds a BS from East Texas State University.
Tony Lopez

Tony Lopez is the Assistant Band Director and instructor of the award-winning Greenhill Drumline. He is a percussionist by training and performs with the Carrollton Wind Symphony. He also composes music for his Middle School percussion ensembles and Upper School drumline. He holds a BM from Howard Payne University.
Terry Martin

Terry Martin, a seasoned theater artist with 40 years under his belt, currently serves as the Head of Fine Arts at Greenhill School, where he shapes the curriculum and leads a dynamic team of 23 fine arts educators. His multifaceted career encompasses roles as a professional actor, acting teacher, director, and producer, bringing an invaluable, practical perspective to the department and the classroom. Terry holds a BA from the University of Alabama.
Thomas Martinez

Thomas Martinez, a native of Dallas, is knowledgeable in various studio practices with an emphasis on printmaking. He has developed a vertical ladder for his Middle School Visual Arts program that allows the students to learn how to control impulsive behaviors, learn to self-regulate, and how to tap into their creative instincts before they decide if they will try the more advanced seventh- and eighth-grade Figure Drawing course. Thomas enjoys watching his children's extracurricular activities, spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and creating for himself whenever time allows. He holds a BFA from the University of North Texas.
Hallie Michaels

Hallie Michaels started studying violin at the age of six and over the years attended Manhattan School of Music, the Interlochen Center for the Arts, and the Aspen and Chautauqua Music Festivals, and New York and Columbia Universities. Hallie is a member of the Fort Smith Symphony, freelances in many orchestras, and performs in pop and country concerts. Hallie teaches fifth - twelfth-grade strings in addition to third and fourth-grade string ensembles; she loves to help her students find joy and success with music.
Greg Mihalik

Greg received his BA in theatre from Lehigh University and his MFA in Playwriting from Rutgers University. Greg has been teaching theatre arts for middle school, high school, college-age students, and adults for almost twenty years. Greg studied and performed improvisation and musical improv at the Magnet Theater in New York City and at various theaters in Austin, Texas. He is currently the Middle and Upper School Theatre and Improv teacher at Greenhill, and a regular performer and Training Center Director at Stomping Ground Comedy Theater in Dallas.
Nick Paraskevas

Originally from the Rio Grande Valley, Nick Paraskevas moved to the Dallas area in 1980 to continue graduate studies in Violin and Orchestral Conducting. He worked as a freelance violinist/violist, conductor of the SMU Conservatory Sinfonietta, and conductor of the Carrollton Chamber Orchestra prior to coming to Greenhill in 1990. Nick also has led the liturgical chanting at St Seraphim Orthodox Cathedral in Dallas for that past 40 years. Nick holds a BM from Sam Houston State University, an MA from TWU, and an MM from SMU.
Misty Quinn

Misty Quinn has taught music in public and private schools throughout Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Texas. She attended college on a full violin scholarship and holds multiple levels of certification in the Orff Schulwerk, Kodaly, Dalcroze, and First Steps in Music methodologies. Misty is the recipient of the Sallie Mae First Year Teacher Award, Rollingwood Elementary Teacher of the Year Award, and the Putnam City School District Teacher of the Year. Misty finds great joy in laying a foundational music experience for the youngest students on campus. She holds a BME from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Erik Tosten

Erik Tosten has been an artist all his life. He specializes in ceramics, woodworking, painting, drawing, and all things sculpture. Making is his passion, and he is currently building acoustic guitars in his home studio. He holds a BFA from the University of Iowa and an MFA from the University of North Texas and currently serves as the Middle and Upper School 3D art teacher.
Will Turbyne
MS/US Technical Theater

Will has been in professional theatre for over three decades as an award winning designer, builder, painter, and craftsman. His credits span the country, most notably at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, where he served as Resident Scenic and Lighting Designer for seven seasons. Locally, his designs have been seen on stage at Trinity Shakespeare Festival, StageWest and Kitchen Dog Theater. Will is also a talented woodworker and furniture maker. Prior to coming to Greenhill in 2020, he taught at the University of Dallas for 8 years. Will holds a BA from the University of New Hampshire and an MFA from the University of Alabama.
