Student Support

The counselors provide support and advocate for students, parents, faculty, and staff; foster emotional, social, and academic well-being; and promote wellness through active listening, problem solving, education, and referrals.

Five full-time licensed clinicians support students in developmentally appropriat ways from prekindergarten through twelfth grade. Counselors meet regularly with faculty and staff to stay informed and provide information and assistance as needed. 

Services Provided:

• Short-term counseling and crisis intervention for individual students;
• Advocacy for students and families;
• Referrals to outside resources;
• Confidential coordination between outside resources and the school;
• Group support and guidance;
• Wellness programming and education;
• Guidance and consultation with parents, faculty, and staff regarding issues of behavior, emotions, and mental health.

Our specialists seeks to help meet the individual learning needs of students within the framework of Greenhill’s curricular requirements. They act as advocates for students in the Learning Assistance Program, helping them achieve success in the classroom.

Supporting the belief that students learn in different ways, the Learning Specialists work with students, faculty, parents, and administrators to identify individual needs and decide how best to address those needs. Learning assistance is available to any student.

• Student workshops;
• Classroom observations;
• Recommendations for diagnostic assessments;
• Professional referrals for tutors, evaluators, therapists, and counselors;
• Learning Assistance Program implementation and documentation;
• Facilitation of grade level and college transition.
