Lunches and drinks should be clearly marked with the student’s name. Microwaves and refrigeration are not available. Students will eat with their cohort outside or in their classroom and will be supervised for lunch.
Snacks:
Students attending camps will have a break in the morning and the afternoon. Students are welcome to bring a snack for breaks.
Please Note: Greenhill School is an Allergy Aware School. Summer on the Hill provides environmental controls for our summer campers which includes requesting parents not send any lunches or snacks containing nuts to campus. All campers are encouraged to wash their hands before and after lunch and before returning to the class from recess. Campers will be educated to not trade or share food, snacks, drinks, or utensils.
Nurses and Medical Clinic
We have two summer nurses on call. Any prescription medication to be received by a student during school hours must be in its original container with the name of the student, name of the medication, dosage amount, and time the medication is to be administered. All prescription medications will be stored in the Lower School Clinic. A medication form must be completed at the time the medication is given to the nurse. Medications will be collected by the school nurse or a staff member during Monday carpool and will be returned on Friday each week.
Student Shot Records
All students under the age of 6 are required to submit current immunization records. Please submit this information to the school nurse by email to summernurse@greenhill.org.
Preschool Students
Preschool students will attend camps in the Lower School and Early Childhood Building. Children must be 4 years old on or before May 28, 2024, to attend. All children must be completely toilet trained, without assistance from an adult, to attend camps. Parents of preschool-aged children will receive specific instructions on a designated drop-off and pick-up area.
Pick-Up Authorization
On the registration form, please provide the name, phone number and driver’s license number of each adult authorized to pick up, including parents. You will be provided a carpool tag via email prior to the start of camp.
Extended Day Care
Extended Day Care is offered before and after camp for age 4 to grade 8 during weeks 2-11. Children will have the opportunity to play outdoors, read, create arts and crafts, play games, and rest. All activities are supervised. A snack will be provided in the afternoon.
Morning care is from 7:30 – 9:00 am and costs $40 per week. Afternoon care is from 3:00 – 5:30 pm and costs $75 per week.
Important Note: Children must be picked up by 5:30 pm. Parents will be charged $2 per minute per child after 5:30 pm.
Electronic Devices
Cell phones and electronic devices must be kept in backpacks during camp hours and lunch. Some classes require students to bring their own technical devices (a laptop or iPad). Class requirements can be found in camp/class descriptions. This will enable students to independently create designs and documents at home after the camp.
Bike Racks
Campers enrolled in biking camps may leave their bikes overnight in the bike racks near the Phillips Family Athletic Center. Coaches will lock all bikes to the rack after camp each day.
Swimming
Many campers will swim in the indoor pool or participate in a splash day while at camp. Instructors will provide advance notice of these occasions. Students will need a swimsuit, towel, and a plastic bag to carry wet items.
Visitors (Parents and Guardians)
To ensure the continued safety of our students and faculty, entry to buildings will be limited to students, faculty, and staff. Thank you for using carpool for drop-off and pick-up and not congregating on campus.
Our Summer on the Hill team looks forward to seeing you this summer. Our programs are held at Greenhill School, 4141 Spring Valley Road, Addison, TX 75001. Detailed Directions
