Yes, registration is required before the start date of any camp or class that your child wants to attend, and you must be registered by 12:00 pm the Wednesday before the beginning of the following week’s camp. We will not be able to take late registrations for the following week’s camps after our 12:00 pm deadline that Wednesday prior.
Is there an application fee?
Yes, there is a one-time, non-refundable application fee of $50.
Do payments have to be made in full before camps/classes start?
Summer payments of less than $200 must be paid in full at the time of your initial registration. For summer payments greater than $200, a deposit of $200 and the $50 non-refundable application fee must accompany each individual child’s registration. The summer balance(s) must be paid in full by May 1, 2025. If your initial payment is made on a credit card, our offices will automatically charge the same credit card (on file) on the May 1 deadline.
Is there a cancellation fee?
Yes, there is a $50 cancellation fee that will be assessed for each week of camps/courses you have requested to cancel (per camper). Requests must be submitted/emailed (in writing) to summer@greenhill.org two (2) weeks prior the camp’s actual start date to receive a partial refund. If your cancellation request comes within that two-week period, no refund will be issued.
Is there a camp change fee?
Students are allowed to change their schedule one time at no charge. A $15 schedule change fee will be charged for every subsequent change after that initial first change.
Please Note: Once a camp has begun, changes in that week’s schedule are not permitted. ALL camp changes must be made through the summer office. You are not able to make changes to your child’s schedule within the CampBrain portal. You will need to email summer@greenhill.org requesting a change in schedule, depending on camp availability.
Do you accept credit cards for payment?
Yes, we accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express as payment.
Will camps and classes be held on Memorial Day, Juneteenth, and/or Independence Day?
No, camps/classes will not be held on the following dates:
Memorial Day (Week 1 - Monday, May 26, 2025)
Juneteenth (Week 4 - Thursday, June 19, 2025)
Independence Day (Week 6 - Friday, July 4, 2025)
Camps and classes will only meet for four days during these particular weeks: May 27-31 (Week 1), June 17-21 (Week 4), and July 1-5 (Week 6). A cost adjustment will be reflected on camps being held during these shortened weeks.
Do you have to attend Greenhill to attend Summer on the Hill?
No, everyone is welcome to enroll in our camps! Last year, students from over 225 individual schools attended our summer programs, including students from outside the state and outside the U.S. as well.
When selecting camps, what grade do I select?
Please register your student for the grade they will be entering in the fall of 2025. (For example, if your child is currently in kindergarten, please register them for first-grade camps). Primer students can select either kindergarten or first grade camps and classes.
What time do students eat lunch?
Lunches will occur between 12:00 pm and 12:25 pm. Students have the option to purchase lunch from Greenhill Dining Services or can bring a sack lunch and drink from home each day. Lunches and drinks should be clearly marked with the student’s name. Please Note: Microwaves and refrigeration are not available, so please do not send anything that needs to be heated up or kept cool. Students will eat lunch with their cohort either inside or outside their classrooms, under supervision.
Please Note: Greenhill School is an Allergy Aware School. Summer on the Hill provides environmental controls for our summer campers which includes requesting parents/guardians not send any lunches and/or snacks containing nuts to our campus. All campers are encouraged to wash their hands before and after lunch and before returning to the class from recess. Campers will be educated to not trade or share food, snacks, drinks, or utensils.
Are students escorted by an adult between camps?
Yes, all students will be escorted from one location to another by our teachers and/or counselors at all times.
Do students need to bring their own laptops and iPads for STEM and academic classes?
Some camps or classes require students to bring their own tech devices from home (a laptop or an iPad). Please see the class requirements on the camp/class descriptions to know what might be needed.
Where are the Summer on the Hill and Sports Camps offices?
The Summer on the Hill office is located just inside the Lower School Administration Building. Please use the Spring Valley entrance, take the far-right lane, and circle around until you reach the front of the LS Admin Building. Find a spot to park adjacent to the steps in front of the building, then someone can help direct you to our summer offices.
The Summer Sports Office is located just inside the Phillips Family Athletic Building Lobby. Please use the Spring Valley entrance, staying in the far right-hand lane and circle in front of the campus until you reach the Administration Parking (next to Brinkmann Field). Park there and walk towards the entrance between the two gyms. The Summer Sports Office will be located (to your immediate right) as you enter the Phillips Family Athletic Center.
Is Summer Extended Day Care available?
Yes, we will be offering Extended Day Care before and after camp(s) for ages 4 through grade 8 during the summer weeks 2-11 (June 2 – August 8). A snack will be provided to campers enrolled in the afternoon Extended Day. Please Note: We will NOT be offering Extended Day care for Week 1 (May 27 – May 31).
Students enrolled in Extended Day will be supervised, and they will have opportunities to play outside (depending on the weather conditions and heat index), they can read books, create arts and crafts, play games, or just simply rest after a busy day of camp(s).
Extended Day 1: Age 4 through Kindergarten
Extended Day 2: Grades 1 and 2
Extended Day 3: Grades 3 and 4
Extended Day 4: Grades 5 through 8
Morning care: 7:30 – 9:00 am ($45 per week)
Afternoon care: 3:00 – 5:30 pm ($80 per week)*
*Please Note: Children must be picked up by 5:30 pm. A $2 charge (per minute) per child will go into effect if a child is picked up after 5:30 pm.
Please have your carpool tag ready to show for authorized pick up.
Do you accept children younger than four years old?
No, children must be four (4) years old on or before May 27, 2025. All children must be completely potty trained without assistance from an adult in order to attend camp. Students not fully potty trained will be excused from camp without an issued refund.
