Photography Student Earns Title in National Competition

Congratulations to Austin Cohen ’25 for being named a Winner with Distinction in the national YoungArts Competition and having one of his pieces selected for the YoungArts Anthology.

Every year, Greenhill Honors Photography students undertake the arduous task of submitting to the YoungArts Competition. This national competition is the nominating arm of the Presidential Scholar in the Arts. Thousands of students submit to one of 10 artistic disciplines.

Congratulations to Austin Cohen ’25, who was selected as a Winner with Distinction. He will go to Miami, Florida, for YoungArts Week in January for the second part of the competition. Austin is one of only ten photography students invited from a national selection. Visit his website to view his YoungArts submission. Austin joins the ranks of six previous Greenhill Photography alumni finalists (and 17 other winners) representing Greenhill School at this competition.

Also, one of Austin’s pieces was selected for the YoungArts Anthology, representing 60 of the best written/visual works submitted this year.

Austin is now considered a lifetime alumnus of YoungArts and is eligible for a scholarship award. Regardless of the final outcome, we are proud of Austin’s achievements.

Greenhill Photography has placed numerous award winners over the years in this challenging competition, with a gold winner, two silver award winners, a multitude of honorable mentions and merit winners, and a student who placed within the final 60 of all students in the nation.
