Hornets Capture SPC Boys Basketball Championship
The Greenhill boys basketball team earned the 4A title at the 2024-2025 SPC Championship for the first time in 26 years.
The Greenhill boys basketball team delivered a thrilling SPC Championship run on February 13-15, giving fans plenty to cheer for. The Hornets entered the 2024-2025 Winter Championship as the third-seed team and quickly got to work, cruising into the semifinals after defeating St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, 70-45. In round 2, the team battled St. Mark’s School of Texas in a game full of lead changes. With just seconds remaining, Jaxson Thompson ’26 took control, sinking a clutch game-winning shot with two seconds left to secure a 60-58 victory. The Hornets fought with determination against Episcopal High School, the defending champions, and captured the SPC title with a 79-65 victory – bringing home the championship for the first time in 26 years! Winning an SPC title takes an entire team, and we couldn’t be prouder of our student-athletes. A huge thank you to the dedicated coaching staff – Joey Sims and Parker Ainsworth. Congratulations on an amazing season and ending on the highest note: as champions! |
