There's a captivating new addition to the Rosa O. Valdes STEM + Innovation Center. Thanks to the Cultural Arts Committee, Untitled by Dallas-based artist and fabricator Ryan Goolsby is now on display on the second floor of the building. Goolsby's unique blend of digital innovation and traditional artistry can be seen in his exploration of form, structure, and the inherent meaning found in everyday objects and signs. Goolsby has exhibited at the Dallas Museum of Art, Erin Cluley Gallery (Dallas), Liliana Bloch Gallery (Dallas), The Power Station (Dallas), and Fort Worth Contemporary Arts, among others. Supported by the Muriel Seldin Endowment for the Arts, the Cultural Arts Committee (CAC) plays a pivotal role in curating diverse cultural arts programming. This programming is designed to foster an appreciation for the fine arts among our students, covering disciplines such as visual arts, drama, music, literature, and dance. By introducing students to artists, performers, and writers from various fields, the committee aims to enhance students' intellectual and artistic development, encouraging them to embrace new perspectives and deepen their cultural engagement in the years to come. Greenhill parent and Cultural Arts Committee member Catherine MacMahon highlighted the similarities between the art and the innovative space in which it resides. She stated, "I believe it's important to educate our children artistically because it helps them see beyond their limitations and see new horizons." Many thanks to the members of the Cultural Arts Committee for this exciting addition to our campus. |
