Debate Students Named to Championship Team
Congratulations to Sophia Li ’24 and Sherry Zhang ’25 for their selection to represent the United States at the World Schools Debating Championships.

The National Speech and Debate Association recently announced the five students that will represent the United States at the World Schools Debating Championships. Sophia Li ’24 was selected as a team member and Sherry Zhang ’25 was named an alternate. This year the World Championships will be held in Belgrade, Serbia. Last year, the United States won the World Championships held in Hanoi, Vietnam. Sophia and Sherry are members of the 2023-2024 USA Debate National Team. Each year, the National Speech and Debate Association selects only 12 students to be members of the team from an application process open to 141,000 student members.
