The Advanced Video Production students are receiving high praise for their films this spring. Four Greenhill student-made films have been selected to the Texas High School division of the South by Southwest Film Festival.
South by Southwest (SXSW) is one of the four largest North American film festivals. Greenhill has four films included in the 22 selections - more than any other school for the seventh year in a row.
The four Greenhill films include:
Dolls by Rachel Davis `15 and Katie Dai `15
Michelin by Gray Deuber `15 and Caila Pickett `15
as needed. by Jonah Goldberg `17
Just Your Average Joe by Jade `15 and Pearl Basinski `14
Just Your Average Joe has won many awards in the last year, but has been edited and submitted again for consideration. It was also accepted to the
Sun Valley Film Festival. In addition, many student films have been accepted to local, national and international film festivals. Even more impressive, some films have been selected to festivals without a high school or student film category.
Lovesick by Audrey Nelson `16 was accepted to the
Albany FilmFest.
MSG by Alex Gilmour `17 was accepted to the
Magwill Film Festival.
Chrysalis by Hanna Arata `15 was accepted to the
Nez Shorts Film Festival.
Snotfetti also by Hanna Arata `15 was accepted to the Love Shorts Film Festival.
The multi-award winning film
Seawolf by Caila Pickett `15 and Max Montoya `13 was accepted to the international
Creative Arts Film Festival for the Perfect Spirit Film Awards. It was nominated for the following awards:
• Best Actress
• Best Cinematography
• Best Director
• Best Director of Photography
• Best Motion Picture Editing
• Best Fantasy Short Film
