Greenhill History Teacher to Present at National Art Education Association Convention

Greenhill Upper School history teacher Becky Daniels will a pair of presentations at the 2015 National Art Education Association Convention held in New Orleans this upcoming spring.

The first presentation will be a full lecture describing Greenhill's conceptual approach to teaching Art History: Engaging Teenagers Through Art - A Transdisciplinary Approach. Daniels has presented this lecture at the International Conference for the Arts in Society in Budapest during the Summer of 2013. In addition, Daniel has been invited to present this study at the National Association for Multicultural Education in Tuscon this upcoming November. The lecture focuses on Greenhill's curriculum and commitment to diversity and interdisciplinary work to the national stage. Daniels' widely-acclaimed work has caught the attention of curriculum writers at the Maryland Institute College of Art and Rio de Janerio State University in Brazil - who both are wanting to know more about the design of the program for their respective institutions.

The second presentation that Daniels will give at the National Art Education Association Convention will focus on her dissertation reseach, "The Impact of Teen Programming in Art Museums."

Both of the proposals submitted by Daniels went through a rigorous peer review focused on Content, Clarity of Purpose, Suitability/Relevance, Quality and Overall Program Balance. In total, 41% of over 2,300 proposals were accepted.
