Greenhill Welcomes Students for 2014-2015!

Greenhill School’s campus buzzed this morning as approximately 1290 students returned to campus for the 2014-2015 school year. Students and teachers welcomed each other with smiles and hugs.

Lower Schoolers, carrying backpacks as big as themselves, bounced back on campus, running up to teachers with excitement and boundless energy. The opening assemblies for the Middle and Upper Schools focused the all-school theme for the year: Gratitude.

Laura Ross, Head of Upper School, encouraged students to think about ways they are grateful in life, not only as a way of saying thank you, but recognizing it as a path toward a happier, more fulfilled life. She also encouraged students to think about ways to show that gratitude, resisting unkind or unnecessary behavior, and acting toward others in a more enlightened, careful and appreciative manner.

In opening assemblies across each of the divisions, Head of School Scott Griggs charged students to do their best and to think about how they could make this year even better than their last.

“I am grateful for you, our students,” said Griggs. “You are the life of this campus and I am pleased you are back.”
